FESA GENERAL CIRCULAR NO: 162/2012

FESA Server Relocation

FESA ICT has scheduled to relocate a number of servers from FESA House to Cockburn on Saturday 13 October 2012 at 6:00 AM as part of the transition of the organization to the new FESA Complex. The work to relocate the servers is planned to be completed by 10:00 AM and during this time the servers will be unavailable for use.

The following servers are included in the relocation:

• FESA House Email Servers;

• FESA House File Servers (Directorate file shares and staff home drives (H drives));

• Citrix Secure Gateway Servers (external access to OMS applications); and

• External Web-Application Servers (external access to FESA based web applications).

During the relocation the following services will not be available:

Access to E-mail via Outlook and Webmail;

• Access to E-Mail via Smart Devices;

• Access to files on Directorate Shared Drives; and

• Access to staff Home Drives (H:\) at FESA House.

In addition, access to the following services from outside the FESA IT network will not be available:

• All applications presented externally via Citrix including Operational Management Systems (OMS) applications:

o IMS;

o RMS;

o FIRS;

o FIRS Reporting;

o TRAIN;

o PAGER; and

o All test applications.

 

• Human Resources –Employee Kiosk; and

• Access to the Intranet and Extranet including web applications IBRMS, SAMS, WAMSAR and the Incident Browser;

To avoid any potential loss of data FESA personnel should avoid using any of the above listed business systems during this relocation window.

If a significant Operational event occurs or is likely to occur prior to or during the proposed relocation window the work will be postponed.
